Los Angeles Magazine has named Shirley Halperin as its next editor in chief. The veteran journalist will join the magazine on June 15 after spending the past seven years as the executive editor for music at Variety. Prior to that, Halperin was the news director at Billboard and the music editor at The Hollywood Reporter.
