The Art of Creative Collaboration

Table set up with Rebecca Wood dinnerware, outside, and chairs covered in Aloka quilts.

What started as an outdoor shoot for Garnish & Gather, quickly turned into a collaborative experience for more brands.

These days, you just can’t have too many pictures to share on various social channels.  For our media outreach client,  Garnish & Gather,  a local meal kit delivery service that just arrived in Athens, GA, we saw the opportunity to produce a shoot and to include other Athens-based companies in our meal moment. The intention was to create beautiful images that showcase the service in a fresh new way. But by including other brands, we also created the opportunity for co-promotional sharing and goodwill.

The process

We picked gorgeous R.Wood pottery to plate the Korean pork taco meal, making sure to use the studio’s latest hues so that the images were also valuable to them. The team captured a variety of shots in a simple, but outdoor setting, styled with a few cozy quilts from Aloka, another client, that helped to capture the late fall feel. It also gave the Atlanta-based soft goods company an idea for their own blog post. A table runner from our friends at  Hable Construction  added another playful layer.

The result?

With a little bit of strategic thinking, simple planning and a sharing mindset, one photo shoot can produce enough variety of content (behind the scenes, video, vignettes) for three brands to be able to use. And the more you include others in thoughtful ways like this, the more they also think to include your companies’ products in their own promotional material.

It’s more important than ever to strengthen relationships and to encourage other small businesses. Getting together to create beautiful images that help communicate the essence of your brand can also be fun and a wonderful reminder or who we are and that, well, we’re all in this together.
