At some unknown moment within the previous seven years, I accidentally deleted a folder that contained two active years of documentation of Paper-Cut-Project commissions. These images were the only evidence of the one-of-a-kind, paper wigs that Nikki Nye atold hours on the phone with Apple support and grief counseling from my former assistant, I counted them as lost.
Three weeks ago, my husband unearthed an old computer from a closet to work on an unfinished novel. On a fluke, I searched the twelve-year-old desktop, and you guessed it, happened across the very folder that had gone missing everywhere else. The joy of recovery sent me down a rabbit hole of images and feelings, not just about Paper-Cut-Project, but the first round of edits of Recipe for Press: Designer Edition. (note: there is an entire chapter dedicated to the importance of good photography)
It’s been a little over a decade since these pieces and pages were made, but they were instrumental in creating a communications advisory fueled by the intersection of communications, creativity and commerce. I believe that connection is even more important today. And the novel is progressing well.
